A Smelter in the Park?
....that's what Alcoa calls it. The reality is not all that
pretty. Here are three satellite photos of what Alcoa's so-called
"smelter in the park" in Sao Luis, Brazil looks like.
Check out Alcoa's smelter in Pt. Henry Australia. Another 'smelter in the park' with no park, harldy even any vegetation. (Greenpeace loved it!)
Alcoa's Randy Overbey in a Letter to the Editor,
Trinidad Express Jan. 23, 2005:
...it would be Alcoa's preference for the site to be designed so that
room could remain available for expansion of the smelter and to enable
consideration for an alumina refinery at some stage in the future.
